Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology (INEST), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was founded in September 2011based on the advanced nuclear energy research team, i.e. FDS Team. INEST is the professional institute focusing on basic research of nuclear energy safety and the supporting institution of Key Laboratory of Neutronics and Radiation Safety, CAS. It is also the independent nuclear safety assessment and evaluation center with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of nuclear science and technology.

　　INEST?FDS Team is now supported by the Strategic Priority Research Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences “the Future Advanced Nuclear Fission Energy – ADS transmutation system”, the ITER related national project “Fusion Nuclear Safety and Protection Technology”, and many domestic nuclear safety projects. Its main research areas include Neutronics and Critical Safety, Nuclear Materials and Component Safety, Nuclear Thermal-Hydraulics and Accident, Nuclear System Operation and Control Technology, Radiation Protection and Environment Impact, Nuclear Software and Simulation, Reliability and Probabilistic Safety, Nuclear Technology Application, Nuclear Energy Chemistry Safety, Nuclear Emergency and Culture etc.

　　INEST?FDS Team has nearly400 members, and 80% of them has the Ph.D. degree, owing to the distinctive culture system and management structure. It has undertaken more than 150domestic and international projects, including National High Technology Research and Development Program of China, National Basic Research Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation, National Magnetic Confinement Fusion Energy Program, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) cooperation projects, etc. More than 1000 papers have been published, and five of them were selected to be the “highly cited paper (last 10 years)” according to the “Essential Science Indicators (ESI)”.

　　Nuclear energy is an inevitable part of the national energy strategy, while nuclear safety takes up the first priority in its development. INEST?FDS Team is undertaking the Strategic Priority Research Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Science and Technology Major Infrastructure Construction Program with the main mission to develop advanced nuclear energy systems, such as Gen-III, Gen-IV and future fusion reactors, of which competitiveness and prospect are determined by their safety characteristics.

　　Aiming to attractresearchers and scientists with the potential to make international breakthroughsin the urgently needed cutting-edge fields in China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) have launched a new project titled" CAS Pioneer Hundred Talents Program "to attract and support urgently needed talents in 2015. The project include financial and support staff to the leading figures who have achieved innovation so that they can continue to yield new findings in scientific areas and help cultivate young research fellows. 　　1) Doctoral degree earned from overseas; under the age of 55; professorship or equivalent position at a renowned university or institute abroad.

　　CAS offers a special talent fund which is 7,000,000RMB (3,000,000 RMB for team building) and installation allowance which is 1,000,000RMB.

　　INEST?FDS Team provides 10 research assistants to set up the work team according to the actual situation. And also sufficient lab/office space and research–team supportwill be given. In addition, a scientific research grantwhich is 5,000,000RMB will be offered as well as necessary support for outside funding.
